Katherine, NT

The Katherine District Show Society is proud to announce that all general competition entries for the 2026 Katherine Show and Rodeo will be free of charge, as part of a special initiative celebrating Katherine’s 100-year centenary.

Set to take place on 17–18 July 2026, this year’s Show embraces the theme “Peanuts – Celebrating 100 Years of Agriculture”, honouring the region’s rich farming heritage and the people who have shaped it over the past century.

In a significant move to encourage greater community participation, all pavilion competitions and general categories will be free to enter in 2026 (excluding Campdraft, Equestrian and Rodeo events). The initiative reflects the Show Society’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and community connection during this milestone year.

“This is a once-in-a-generation celebration for Katherine,” said the Show Society President. “By removing entry fees, we’re opening the doors for more people to get involved, showcase their talents, and be part of something truly special. The Show has always been about community, and in 2026, we’re making it easier than ever to take part.”

Following a challenging year marked by flooding and extreme weather, the 2026 event represents a powerful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate resilience, and look ahead with optimism.

“We’re looking forward to reuniting with our community this July,” the President added. “The 2026 Show will be a celebration of where we’ve come from, and where we’re going.”
